WHO IT’S FOR: This particular ghd model is a great all rounder, but is definitely better suited to those with fine to normal hair. I have thick hair which is very coarse and has a slight wave – I have used these straighteners but it takes me a while to get my hair as straight as I want it.
In these pictures my hair has been cut shorter than I normally have it and it has been heavily layered. I quickly dried my hair with a hair dryer without styling, it took me about 20 minutes to straighten my hair like this. I have to really section out my hair to get to each bit. But they can work on thicker hair.
When my hair has grown out a little it takes me longer and this is when I would always use my wider plated straighteners for thicker hair.

WHAT I LIKE: ghd are a trusted brand who have led the way with the development of straighteners. This particular model is a fantastic all rounder which can be used for both straightening and curling hair. ghd offer fantastic customer service and their products are long lasting. My first pair lasted about 10 years.
WHAT I DON’T LIKE: These are my second pair of ghd IV Stylers and they don’t seem to get as hot as my first pair – but this might not be a bad thing as too high a heat will destroy hair over time. These aren’t perfect for thick, coarse and long hair – go with ghd V Gold Max Styler for this hair type.
