Don’t Over Wash Your Hair
The most common mistake people make that can really dry their hair out is to wash it every day. It can be hard to resist when you notice your hair getting greasier or grittier, but you have to resist.
If you want to keep your hair healthy, you should stick to a routine of washing it two to three times a week – maximum! Invest in a great dry shampoo and this should be easier than ever.
When You Do Wash
Use a salon professionals approved method. Instead of rubbing that shampoo into your entire hair, stick to the first few inches. If you want to have shiny and healthy looking hair, then avoid directly applying any shampoo to the lengths.
If you focus the product right at the roots, you’ll be thoroughly cleaning your hair without stripping it. The shampoo will flow down with the water and give your hair the light cleanse it needs, but you should only be working it into the roots.
The best thing you can do for your hair is follow a few basic rules when washing it.
First of all, you should strictly stick to lukewarm water. Extremely hot water may feel good to you, but it will completely dry out your hair and cause breakage.
Aside from the water, take this time to really massage the shampoo into your scalp. Giving it an invigorating massage can actually encourage blood circulation and help you get stronger hair.
Instead of sticking to your typical conditioner, why not invest in a deep conditioner? This switch up can really make a huge difference in the quality of your hair. Deep conditioning 2 to 3 times a week can work miracles for you if you have dry or lacklustre hair.
Avoid the Heat

Cut It To Keep It Long

Regularly trimming your ends will help avoid any split ends, but most important, it’s the top trick to keep your hair healthier. This definitely doesn’t mean to get a full on hair cut regularly, just trim the ends!
Oil It Up!
As with most things, natural ingredients can give you some of the best results. This is particularly true when it comes to hair care. There are so many oils out there that work wonders for hair, and regularly using them can really improve the quality of your hair.
Argan, macadamia, coconut or even almond oil are all oils that work particularly well with hair. You can use these in a number of ways. You can either use an oil as a really intensive treatment mask by applying it heavily onto your hair and leaving it on for a while before shampooing. Or, another way is to apply it lightly and sleep in it as an overnight mask.
If you want to keep it simple though, you can put some of the oil into a mist bottle and just spray it through your ends to keep your hair looking shiny, whilst also keeping it healthier!
